Prosciutto Schiacciata

A warm, crispy PINZZA™ flatbread split and toasted, then layered with delicate slices of prosciutto and fresh mozzarella. Finished with peppery arugula and a drizzle of olive oil for a simple, elegant Italian sandwich with fresh flavor and a light, airy crunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 each 4×10 fully cooked Palermo’s PINZZA™
  • 8 slices prosciutto
  • 6 slices fresh mozzarella
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 2 tsp olive oil (finish)

Instructions

  1. Slice the 4×10 PINZZA™ lengthwise to create a top and bottom.
  2. Place both halves cut-side up on a screen or pan.
  3. Bake at 475–500°F for 2–3 minutes, until lightly toasted and crisp.
  4. Remove from oven and layer fresh mozzarella on the bottom half.
  5. Add prosciutto slices evenly over the mozzarella.
  6. Top with fresh arugula and drizzle lightly with olive oil.
  7. Close the sandwich, slice if desired, and serve immediately.
